ARTI307 - Revit Assignment 1 (2).jpg

Location: 336 Main Street, Tofino, BC Canada
Facility Type: Commercial and Residential Combined
Project Brief:
This unique project takes a previous group project from 2nd year and converts it into a two-storey building that leads students through the REVIT learning curve.
Software Used: REVIT, Enscape

Project Description:

The 2nd year group project by Lauraen San Jose, Shayla Hocking, Kirsten Karasuik, and Raven Stanley is designed as a Café and Book Nook exhibition booth which is constructed as a hand-made architectural scale model (1" = 1'-0") known as The Grove. Widely known for their eco-friendly practices, The Grove strives to encourage sustainability within the community while offering the public a variety of locally-sourced coffee grinds and baked treats. The design of this exhibition booth aims to spread a powerful message by attracting locals with their favorite treats while all design components work together to symbolize a “greener” society. The Grove also emphasizes their secondary focus of reducing consumption and reusing materials by introducing a small library of books where guests can take a book and leave a book for others to read as they enjoy their morning treats and beverages.

The later REVIT project uses this previous project's baseline to design a retail center on the first floor and a residential unit on the second floor. Presentation drawings are highlighted on this page, whereas construction drawings are highlighted on the "Technical Drawings" page.
